INTRASITE GEL "THE MIRACLE DRUG" In 1992, just after Hurricane Andrew, there was no power for 17 days. The Subway manager knocked me completely out of the wheelchair because I was turning off their generator, which was blasting noise I could no longer stand at my business in Perrine, located next to Subway. When the police came, the Subway manager told the police I attacked him with my wheelchair. This outrageous claim was supported with Subway employees and the manager got off, which is typical in Miami-Dade County. This assault left me with an abrasion on the top of my left foot. The volunteers in medicine who came to help us after the Hurricane treated the abrasion daily. This top of the foot abrasion did not heal. Then my landlord destroyed my apartment on the fourth floor for insurance fraud purposes and I was rendered homeless. Showers were now gone. I ended out camping out in the back of the business. It would be November of 1993 before I was in an apartment again. Hurricane Andrew was a nightmare for housing in Southwest Dade County. The sore did not heal for years. The attending doctor said he did not think it would ever heal. I covered it with ointments and bandages daily. And kept it clean. But it would not heal or diminish in size. In 1999, thanks to VIOXX, I found myself in Baptist Hospital with an irregular heartbeat. A nurse, upon examining my foot and the open sore asked how I was treating it. I told her about the doctors, and them saying it would not heal. She asked if I would just try something new. She applied Intrasite Gel on the wound and bandaged it up. She gave me a good supply of the Gel, upon my departing the hospital. Much to my surprise the sore began to heal. Soon it was so small I could not believe it. Finally, the sore was healed and in a very short time. This simple product, Intrasite Gel healed the sore that had been open since September of 1992. Since that time I have told many paraplegics and quadriplegics about this Intrasite Gel. Many of them tried it on open sores on their posterior and reported that it worked for them too. Over the years, I have had abrasions on the posterior. I use the Intrasite Gel, bandages and have been able to heal the sore with no bed rest. I usually modify the cushion so the pressure is off the sore. The Intrasite Gel is not a drug. It is a basic over the counter sales item. Recently, I experienced two skin abrasions. One healed quickly, the other one is healing slowly. I recently, Nov. 2010, found myself entering Jackson Memorial Hospital Emergency Room with a severe bladder infection as well as some other bladder problems. The nursing staff in Emergency never heard of Intrasite Gel. I told my nurse, Laura, that there was my article on www.dignity4disabled.com about Intrasite Gel, but alas, it somehow got dropped. Therefore, I am rewriting it and putting it back up on this web site. When Laura finally got "rid of me" I was taken to a real hospital room and again asked for the Intrasite Gel from nursing. They never heard of it, and could not obtain it from supply. Needless to say, I was not impressed by JMH nursing. Intrasite Gel should be as fundamental for nursing as tape and bandages. Intrasite Gel has several manufacturers. The photo shows three different containers, from three different manufacturers. When we are done, every nurse in JMH will know about Intrasite Gel and we need to spread the word across America, as it is a very important healing item. And that’s why I call it a miracle drug. It may be the difference between surgical healing verses regular healing. Written by Denny Wood, MSW |
